What is a water/steam mixer?
The water/steam mixer is used to produce hot water using steam directly in the production area. It efficiently mixes steam and water in industrial processes and is an ideal alternative to other less efficient and much more expensive heat exchangers.
Steam/water mixers provide a cheap, instant source of hot water by utilising existing steam and water supplies.
The mixers are extremely economical to run as virtually all the heat energy in the steam is transferred to the water.

How to operate water/steam mixers
Our water/steam mixers are made of stainless steel, ensuring maximum hygienic requirements for all applications. They have no moving parts or electrical connections, they only need to be connected to steam and water supplies and they do not require electromechanical maintenance.
The water/steam mixers are available in two sizes depending on the flow rate and volume, and can be equipped with a range of accessories for any application.
The water/steam mixers have a safety device to ensure that steam cannot be accidentally ejected. This safety device consists of a spring and a piston that moves to the left to open the steam inlet valve.
There are also holes in the side of the piston to allow water to enter the chamber and mix with the vapour.
If at any point the water pressure fails or the outlet is closed, the steam pressure causes the piston to move to the right and the steam inlet valves close.
In addition, non-return valves are installed in the inlet connections to prevent water from running into the steam supply and vice versa.
The temperature of the water at the outlet of the mixer is easily controlled by using water and steam valves mounted on the inlets. A built-in thermometer ensures setting and monitoring of the water temperature at the outlet. The outlet water temperature can be adjusted from 35°C to 95°C.
The water/steam mixers are also available in a version with a rotating handle that allows only the steam to be used in addition to the steam/water mixture. By shutting off the water supply and adjusting the handle, the correct amount of steam is achieved. This version is an alternative to the standard version. If only steam is needed, for example for sterilisation, this can be achieved by closing the water supply valve and turning the handle.
